I would love to do a pod cast, can get some of my art friends from Wisconsin to tour and comment, after some snacks and libations:P Rose Borchovski’s piece to me is about realizing the darker side we have within ourselves, love it or hate it, its there. Solo’s tower is wonderful, with the niches and the changing colors, as well as the almost unstable feel about it. Its perfect to play with. Nice tunes too in the podcast. We have created a unique community here froms Jays initial project. I know we can keep it all going. Viva la prim!

Sowa, Mab,Solo have been making some cool films, and people continue to put out some nice pieces on the sim. I will try out a podcast on my own when I can, and film when I can. I think that the artists are still rocken there and it can be a bit gonzo in journalistic quality as well as filming. I like that. Its still one of my favorite places because you dont know what will be there and how it interacts intentionally or unintentionally. And, anyone can place or dialogue there. Right now is looks quite crazy:)

It is a great space Pen I agree, but it just isn’t Newark is Watching. If they really are still going ahead with it they should just let everyone know and then we’ll all relax and wait patiently, but it’s the excruciating silence that has forced us all to make these conclusions.

Forgot to say -
Yes people are making some cool films Pen, and there is still art being left on the sim, but that just makes it more frustrating because Newark isn’t Watching.

The response (privately) to Amy’s suggestion about us all doing our own podcasts was a bit flaccid. I cancelled the one I’d organised for this Friday after the idea of using our friends was met with some hostility.

According to a comment DC left on Soundcloud the project is starting up at Newark in September, he didn’t say where he heard this but if that’s the case then Aferro needs to announce it officially rather than on the art underground! Ultimately we all just want to know what is going on, if it is continuing in September that’s great. just tell us.

Mab, I didn’t imagine the opposition, but it’s great that you’d be interested, maybe I’ll do something in the future.

A perfect example of how confusing this whole situation is; if you look on the top left of this blog it says “We’ll be back in the real world in March at a new location.“, and over on the NiW blog it says “We are temporarily not in RL: But will be opening in June at Gallery Aferro“. So which statement is true? Well of course neither because we’re now in July and still waiting!

I’m still inspired by the art at BiW. I never thought that the name should be changed from BiW. I am going to approach some other galleries about getting involved. I think we could have groups from each of our areas logging in and recording podcasts, writing essays, and making machinima. I bet treet tv could be convinced to stop by for at least a monthly revue. I still plan on getting some rl artists in here and see what they think of the art. I’ll post it on sowas unofficial.

That all sounds great Sowa, but it will take a lot of organisation and the support of the artists and wider community to make it work, and it’s absolutely crucial that the podcasts happen regularly, no reason why any of that can’t happen though. Somebody would have to be project manager and oversee everything (are you volunteering?) and work with a team. Jay’s original project was basically sound, it just needs a rethink and a few tweaks. If you were going to continue Jay’s idea you’d need his blessing and permission though, unless you’re thinking of something completely new and separate of course. As long as a format can be agreed upon and adhered to there is a lot of potential.
