in Episode 67 we struggle to be heard over the sounds of an exhibition being installed, but despite that we have quite a good conversation with Stephanie Rothenberg, Scott Kildall and Don Carroll chiming randomly throughout and more at the end. Artists discussed: Robin Moore, Dan Coyote, Dekka Raymaker and Glenman Jun (i think)

It took me forever to get the last one posted- sorry about that- i’m kinda running around like a headless chicken. So with this one I Vowed to get it posted right away so that wouldn’t happen- so here it is!

You can download the audio version directly here

Or get it from iTunes

and also there is Feedburner

Can’t believe you thought it was a serious picture, very strange, maybe the heat was making you all crabby.

The flashing platform is Selavy’s.

Edit: The platform you clicked that is owned by Sage Duncan is a transparent platform placed there from the beginning, all Selavy as done is place her flashing prim underneath this one. It’s really simple to solve.

By the way, the new sim needs some serious setting up, I will try to make points here later on and how to implement them.

I’ll correct your podcast note:

“Artists discussed: Robin Moore, Dan Coyote, Linden Lab Teleportation System and Glenman Jun (i think)”

I made Psychotic Zoo a book, a story, you start on page one and work through to the last page, The End. If you don’t take the journey through the piece you don’t get the story. Like a book it has a beginning, a middle and a ending but not necessarily in that order, it goes around and around, cycle, recycle. You discuss moving (teleporting (TP)) in Second Life and Zoo was made as a journey.

Zoo is as it is for a reason, you start on the top floor and walk down the stairs to the other floors and into the rooms, in the rooms there are visual metaphors and things to touch and activate. Some ‘residents’ of SL TP to a site and remain in one spot, they control the camera to view the piece, they do not walk around the piece, they do not make the effort, if you don’t make the effort with Zoo you will not get it, you will not have the ‘experience’. Negotiation.

Psychotic Zoo is about life (castration/censorship) and death. If you are not prepared to take part, should you be wasting your time?

Prims Are Theft.

yeah, the conversation kinda got derailed by Don there as sometimes happens- As I said its an interesting work that deserves a proper discussion and that I urge everyone to go see while its there to be seen which is on Odyssey Sim until…. when Dekka?

Psychotic Zoo is an excellent, compelling work, I urge people to visit and spend time in there discovering all its nuances.

I did – and I got a free clock!

How can you go to Popcha, talk about art that is commenting on the best-of show, and totally miss Dekka’s city in the sky? MonCherie even ‘blogged about it.

One of the things about the podcasts is that they suffer from tunnel vision. There’s seemingly no attempt to be complete at all.

For instance, there is a really beautiful piece on Popcha right now by nessuno Myoo, called ‘In The Pending Of The Contact.’ It’s a sort of rusty robotic astrolabe thing, with tons of details and virtuosic prim torture. The notecard explains that it has a backstory, though the story isn’t really needed to appreciate it. If one were searching for a comparison, it would be to Bryn Oh.

Works such as this, placed with sincerity, would benefit from criticism. But somehow they escape the gaze of three people using a 47-inch TV. :-)

I too thought the Nessuno Myoo piece quite lovely.

Something to say?
