In Episode 19 We have the pleasure of having guest-stars Patrick Lichty and Bettina Tizzy return plus the much read brooklyn art critic and artist Lauren Monk, AKA James Kalm of “The Kalm Report” video art reviews, as well as Shirley Marquez and Boris aka Adonis Bussy. We have a good discussion rambling between the views of Lauren the self-described technological cave-man, and the other panelists who more or less are just waiting for the chips to be implanted in their heads. We find out that Boris sits to close to his computer and Bettina has birds on her head. Artist discussed: BETLOG Hax, Nomasha Syaka, Gore Suntzu, Cheen Pitney,Dan Coyote

“I would love to a gallery and see brains splattered on the ceiling or something and I would say OK man we’ve got the next thing happening”

Lauren Monk is cool.

*Juria has started an MBA, hence his absence.

Implant? No, I’m waiting to become immortal by uploading.

Then again, that might not be the perfect solution either. Your reading assignment for the week: Everyone In Silico by Jim Munroe, available for free download at http://nomediakings.org/writing/free_ebook_released.html — or if you were at Readercon like I have been this weekend, you could have picked up a free printed copy.

The URL that I mentioned during the podcast: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-8033 It’s a report of a bug in Second Life snapshots that is preventing me from offering high-quality high-res pictures of some artworks.

Heyas Jay, Don, Patrick, Boris, Shirley, James etc….

Thanks for another lovely podcast!

I feel necessary to clear my good name of a few misunderstandings from this Podcast…

Firstly, the shapes seen covering the ground are actually showing through from a piece below in the water that nobody noticed! There is (was) a ’scape below your feet! Come on people start thinking in 3D, pulllleeeeze!

REMEMBER the Z axis!!!!

The fact that you saw them above the ground means that your browser hasn’t fully rezzed the prims yet. The envelopment was not intended to “intrude” on your photography Shirley! or your user experience Boris! I am a pacifist and strongly object to “weaponized or intrusive” art.

It is not my intent EVER to force anyone to view my work. What you noticed was a rezzing issue only.

Concerning prim usage….I never take ALL the prims in the space! It sometimes happens after I make a build that someone comes in and rezzes on top of that and takes up the rest.

You will also note that I after it was brought up by Patrick and Jay in Podcast #18 that I responded by removing nearly a thousand prims! I even mentioned this TWICE on the blog that I had opened up the prims. Can I help it if I am enthusiastic? (hehe) Coyote’s are pack animals and while I may only be half Coyote, I do care if the rest of the pack eats!

So please! Besmirtch my good name ladies and gentlemen, but do so on substantive and aesthetic issues that are intentional. I can’t be held responsible for your browser’s full cache or for the lack of prims in a sim that is first come first serve! (given my ethic of NOT actually hogging prims)

Sent with love by your very own Desert Critter!
