@Pink Cube@ - Edgar Atlas

They’re big. They’re pink. They’re cubes. But what’s the point of them?

So far as I can tell, these are just two maximum-size (normal prims, not megaprims) plywood cubes, colored the standard pink in the color picker. They have the default “Hello avatar” script inside, or at least a script that has that behavior. The one on the left in the picture (the one with the car on the side, which was not placed by the same person as the cubes) is for sale for L$100, and the other one is L$1000; that’s a lot for plywood, and the price difference is puzzling since they otherwise seem to be identical.

I can build one of these in about a minute. It won’t cost anything, and I’ll have full permissions so I can have as many cubes as I want. Art shouldn’t be something that you can create without even trying hard; these don’t fit my definition of art.

I’d dismiss these as prim litter, except that the creator actually went to the trouble of naming them and giving them separate prices so I don’t think their placement is accidental. But they still don’t say anything to me other than bigness and pinkness. Perhaps the pricing was meant as some sort of statement about the excesses of commerce, but it doesn’t work.

must be a tribute to some newbie sandbox area, I guess.

Something to say?
