PICTURES OF THE ART IN THE PODCAST

SHOW NOTES

Episode 16 is one of the best ones we’ve done so far, chock-full of thoughtful criticism thanks to the return of Don Carroll, and the addition of Tyler Coburn and James Kalm, very smart writers and artists from the New York scene. For the first few minutes we talk about art in our neighborhood and the dive into the sim where controversy has been boiling over some art that may or may not be intentionally political and some art that is definitely political. We also talk about one of the most interesting works we’ve had so far- the ghostly voices that have been speaking on the BIW sim for the past several days. Panel includes: Don Carroll, Boris Kizelshteyn, Katy Garnier, Jay Van Buren, Tyler Coburn, James Kalm. Artist discussed: Ichibot Nishi, Arahan Claveau, Klink Epsilon, Ford Heberle, Selavy Oh, Nebulosus Severine, Snowy Hoobinoo, Steven Venkman, Obscured Quandry, The Mystery Ghost-maker, Edgar Atlas

ichibot ♥ sélavy :-)

I was worried some of you were going to dismiss ‘Injustice’ after all the less than favourable comments about political art earlier in the podcast, so very relieved you thought it was “bringing to life the dignity of one example”.

But argh, those damn poseballs!

Something to say?
