Dear Brooklyn is Watching,

I call dibs on talking about the two following pieces during our next podcast:

1. Nebulosus Severine’s “Look what you made me do” (and sure, you think I’m going to say something really awkward about how I just want to feel Nebulosus’ pain and I just don’t and blah blah blah… but no!! I actually have something kinda interesting to say about the piece that I think is worth bringing up and is constructive and will give us all stuff to talk about. And I promise I will only talk about my own psychological issues, therapy, SSRIs, and how much I hate my mother, oh, like a few times. But that’s it. Hear me out - I have good things to say).

And on the opposite end of the spectrum…

2. Tsui Yamabushi’s scenes with penis characters in them. Come on!!! You know you want to talk about them in your super-serious art school voice!!!

The Yoda sculpture I leave to you guys.

love always,
Amy Freelunch

Be nice about Nebulosus or I will send you a turd every hour until the end of time.

Also, those are not by Tsui Yamabushi, he and I both left work at BIW by Butterflysmasher Dana aka Alex Barella who is no longer in SL but we thought you might enjoy them.

I have a set of photos of Butterflysmasher’s work over at Flickr but you will have to be logged in and turn safe search OFF and set content type to ALL in your account options, under the privacy & permissions tab, or you will only see one photo out of a possible 20. They don’t like penises at Flickr and I have to hide them.

The Yoda piece is called ‘Restraining Order of the Jedi”

Butterflysmasher is the most capable sculptor to ever have set foot in the virtual world.

Yes agreed Ichi and with a sence of humour as well.

Dude, you don’t have to threaten me with hourly turds. I am thrilled to see the first piece on the sim (that I can think of, anyway) with real emotional content and personal narrative. I’m not without my criticisms of it, but mostly I’m just really relieved to see someone incorporate these concerns. Also, I consider the piece to be incredibly ballsy in its context, which is a huge plus in my book, but DAMN IT!! NOW I’M GIVING AWAY THINGS I WANTED TO SAY IN THE PODCAST!! DAMN YOU AND YOUR HOURLY TURDS!!!! ARGH!

Haha OK Amy!

A little background for you. With ‘Look What You Made Me Do’, Neb recreated in SL a drawing she made many years ago. When I first saw it over a year ago, technically it amazed me what she’d accomplished, then what it was really about hit me and I was deeply moved.

She and I both left work for you yesterday that we hoped would reveal a very human side. In my case I made a condensed version of an old installation ‘Sick Cat’, which is about fear of death and the desire to keep memories alive. Please seek it out, I’m in agreement with much of what you said on last weeks podcast and think you would appreciate it.

Here’s a link to a 3 minute TV documentary about the original Sick Cat - http://blip.tv/file/223273

Much thanks,

-Arahan-

I left some work out as well if wanna check that as well (not as good as arahan and nebs hee hee )

yes! Totally. Pschyed to talk about the penis people things and I think its funny what dc did putting that canvas in front of the big blood-shitting thing.

Yes I love what DC has done, a perfect response.

Something to say?
