Remember back to your junior high days and the nervous start of attending your first parties which included both boys and girls, when some asshole would inevitably suggest playing an absolutely horrible game called “Seven Minutes in Heaven?” You and a member of the opposite sex would get locked in someone’s mother’s coat closet, left to fumble uncomfortably and make awkward conversation, all while everyone else at the party stood outside and assumed you were having wild sex when you really weren’t. Well, “Brooklyn is Watching”’s new Three-Minute Rule is going to be just like that, without the implied sexual contact (probably) but with all the awkwardness and fumbling that comes with a group of people pondering aloud about a work of art…

So goes the PR bid for a new format for Brooklyn is Watching that I scribbled down and emailed to Jay earlier this week. My proposal is that, in order to make our podcast as jam-packed, informative, lively, and interesting as possible, we should impose the following rules:

Every week there should be a list made of all the new works of art on the sim.
Once the podcast starts, our team of “experts” goes around and talks about each of them, spending three-minutes (exactly! with, like, an egg timer or something going off in the back to enforce it!) on each piece.
Each “expert” gets the chance, once per podcast, to call for extra time (up to ten minutes) to talk about a certain piece that they feel strongly about. And of course, if the “expert” still doesn’t think the piece has received its due, they are encouraged to blog about the piece here and give it yet more attention.

I think the above will ensure that we get to cover more ground while at the same time giving works of art we really like the attention it deserves. What do you think?

Amy, that’s a great idea, and it’ll certainly make the blog even more interesting than it already is. Jay, Amy, Kat, and all the others: many thanks for your efforts!
