Well, I know you’ve all been waiting to see who would win the award for the most weird artwork of the week. There are so many lovely things on our sim right now, its been hard to keep up, but i’ve tried. For example the turd that was much talked about on podcast 2 and also the image of LePen with bonus hornage and boobage (thanks for explaining Ichibot) also much talked about on podcast 2, and several works by Mr. Touminen . Before i reveal (can’t you feel the drama?) who wins the award, have you ever heard this little artschool truism?
The difference between “huh……WOW!” and “WOW!- huh.”
this is something that art teachers say all the time– That there are works that make you go “huh…..” they seem unassuming, you’re not sure what you’re looking at, they don’t seem that impresive, then you get something and you say “WOW!” because they just blew your mind in some important and presumably lasting way (I’m not sure yet, but this one might be in that category because of what Cam said about the arbitrary scale of the Avatar– i really really really want to be able to make my avatar 2 inches tall if i want to now that i think about it– i mean really what’s stopping us?). Then there’s the work that goes “WOW…. huh.” (I propose that this might be the catagory of this work) -where it seems great at first but the more you think about it the more it really doesn’t seem to be saying anything really except making reference and doing a neat scripting trick.
SO, after much consideration the award must go to this work:

why? because it blew a fuse in my little too-much-art-school-trained-mind… this one, seriously seriously folks (do you want to disagree with me?)… is just Huh?
Award to ANDRES WANTANABE for the flying sheep, cow, thing with wings… and skies! and is that blood?!…..thing.

Wow…huh?? That really made my day, Jay! Hey! I really appreciate the mention and am glad to tweak your art school framed brain. To be honest though, the Flying Moo Trio just came together right there on your piece of art-turf. Whamo! Was inspired by your show and all the great art around. Keep up the mantra! Moo!
